Insider Information, the DOJ, and your 401k…

Ask Larry Zimpleman, former President and CEO of Principal Financial Services, what his youngest son DOJ trial attorney Tom Zimpleman, did for a living, and his answer would likely be that he is “a Washington, DC lawyer.”  A modest response to say the least, since Thomas D. Zimpleman is working for the Justice Department in Washington, DC..  Hired by Eric Holder following his graduation in 2008, Tom Zimpleman’s first client was then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (see Colton v. Clinton).  When Holder resigned his position in 2015, Zimpleman continued his legal career working for Attorney General Loretta Lynch.  The problem with this cozy relationship is that while Eric Holder had Tom Zimpleman on his roster, the DOJ was supposed to be committed to prosecute criminals like his dad, Larry Zimpleman, who was stealing money from investors.

If you have been following my website over the past year or so, you will know I am convinced Zimpleman and his company stole billions of dollars from investors, and coincidentally, the SEC and the DOL are supposed to protect investors from such scoundrels.  Of course, to my knowledge, the DOL and the SEC have yet to find any wrongdoing on the part of Zimpleman and his cronies, so I guess all is well with the arrangement.

The mystery is how Tom Zimpleman, age 35, and a recent graduate at Stanford University with a JD degree, came to be hired by the most prestigious legal personalities in the world, key enforcers of regulatory and criminal law in the United States.  again, coincidentally, recent news has focused on the “pay to play” relationship between the Clinton’s and several CEO’s of large corporations stateside.

Could there have been a “pay to play” Christmas gift from Larry to his son when the job was offered?  That is anyone’s guess, but one more fact makes this matter even more curious.  Out of over 1500 trial attorneys working for the DOJ at the time, Tom Zimpleman was the “man of the hour,” hand picked to defend Hillary.  As far as confidentiality is concerned if the DOJ was to investigate Principal Financial, I can only imagine the conversation around the office cooler.

Who knows, maybe there is still an email floating around in the FBI’s office that will expose the truth?
